How to Wear Sequins Casually

Updated: 2 hours ago

When you think of the holidays, you most likely think of:

  • Red & green together

  • Blue & white together

  • Gold

  • Plaid

  • Flannel

  • AND sequins!

Well I'm here to tell you that, yes, some of those things are definitely holiday-ish. However, not all - especially sequins! I'm guilty of wearing my sequin top that I thrifted in Ireland during the day all year round, and I don't care! Heck, you can wear plaid and flannel all year round, too! It's all about mixing it with a texture from another season, and of course, color.

Whoever said that certain things have to be worn during certain seasons is the dumbest thing they could have said 😉

The Why

Let's just jump right in, shall we? The reason why I'm even writing this post is because 1) we all need to get out of the mindset that certain things can only be worn during certain times. 2) if we love something, why can't we embrace it year round? And, 3) I like to maximize my clients closets as much as possible. I find the versatility in everything so we can be as sustainable as possible. Think about it - if you only wear something for a special occasion 1-2x a year, you'll most likely donate it or throw it away compared to a piece that you wear all the time year round. Am I right or am I right?

One common piece that most women buy for the holiday season when it comes to sequins, is a skirt! Here are 2 ways to wear a sequin skirt casually:
